Happy New Year!

now we are all right back into it here is an update of the Christmas period.

-Together with our twin club The Rotaract Club of Patan in Nepal we donated chocolate, school goods and sporting equipment to the Children of the Children’s Welfare Center (CWC) just outside of Patan. RAC Patan delivered the Items on Christmas day, and had some fun with the kids, singing and dancing.

-We donated 65 gifts to the K-Mart Wishing Tree, Australia’s largest Christmas gift appeal, the Kmart Wishing Tree, celebrates its twentieth year this Christmas. the Wishing Tree supports some of Australia’s largest welfare organisations – The Salvation Army, The Smith Family, The Brotherhood of St Laurence. This year K-mart received 331,300 gifts in total.

We also had our Club Christmas Party, a overnight trip to North Stradbroke Island, where we played cards till wee hours of the morning.

Last night was our first meeting at our new venue. It was great!

some outcomes from the meeting are as follows:

• Giving gifts to the K-Mart wishing Tree this christmas
• Supplying money to our Twin Club in Nepal to buy Fruit for the orphanage over christmas and New year.
• Some of us will be attending: Wine, Cheese and Guitars – Putting Kids in East Timor Through School. this Sunday This Event is being run by Rotaract Club of West Brisbane. if you are interested in attending email us!
• In the new year we have decided to make up some school packs to give to some kids, (more info in the new year)
• Donating a massive amount of old Mags to hospitals etc. in the South brisbane area.

Next Meeting is 10th January 2008, 6:45 for 7pm @ Jackpot Noodles, West End.

Our Meeting place has changed. But don’t worry! its just across the street at Jackpot Noodles on Boundary Street West End!

Its a brand spanking new shop with a fantastic Function room upstairs!

Well… what a night, it was a trial for the new venue (all thumbs UP)

Levi Organised the whole night and did a great job. we were teamed off and Reece and I were scrapping the bottom of the barrel right from the word go. Nic blitzed everyone but was pipped at the post by his team Mate Sarah. who walked away as over all winner and a gift voucher. Kylie Out.
