Flowers for the elderly – 30/08/08

Elderley in Annerley

On Saturday 30th August we had Elderly in Annerley – a day for the Rotaract Club of South Brisbane to go visit the elderly people in Tricare Annerley and give them flowers. It was a great turnout by 7 of our members – Brianna, Kylie, Alex, Levi, Caz, Renee, Sian and Brett (from Rotaract Redlands). We spent the morning chatting to the residents in the nursing home and handing out beautiful bunches of flowers. Special thanks has to go out to the Rotaract Club of Redlands, who linked us up with one of their members who works in the flower industry, and who arranged our beautiful bunches of flowers.

This was a great event that took more time than money to arrange, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say, lets do it again soon!!

Trivia Night – 31/07/08

Our first club event went off without a hitch. TRIVIA NIGHT was AWESOME!!!! It was fantastic to see such a great turnout of members from both our club (the Rotaract Club of South Brisbane), and the other Rotaract clubs in the district; as well as our friends and potential new members – there were about 50 people (a full house)!!

Congratulations go out to Joe’s Warriors who were the winning team on the night, and also to the team Betty Crocker’s Miracle Frosting who got the lowest score and walked out with the wooden spoons.

Thank you very much to the Club committee, especially Hayley, Brooke, Alex and Levi for organising prizes, raffles, dinner and the fantastic questions
