On Wednesday October 29th, Alex went along to the Rotaract Club of South West Brisbane’s 5th week social night. It was an enjoyable night where they screened The Black Balloon in a big auditorium. It was great to catch up and network with the other Rotaractors, and to hear about all the wonderful things their club has upcoming in the near future.
Saturday 25th October was Cox plate race day at Doomben, and the Rotaract Club of Redlands thought it would be a great excuse to hold a fun and different event.
4 Members from the Rotaract Club of South Brisbane, including Kylie, Alex, Bella and Sian, got frocked up in their best dresses, shoes and fascinators, and headed along for a great day of horse racing. We got spoilt to a buffet lunch and dessert in one of the boxes, and some of the members got lucky on the horses.
We look forward to more events with the Redlands club

Face Painting our Special Kids!
The Special Childrens Picnic was, as always, a fabulouse success again this year. For the fourth year running Rotarct South Brisbane members helped bring joy into the lives of physically and intellectually disabled kids from all over brisbane with our face painting at this event organised by South Brisbane Rotary. It was a windy day at Wellington Point Park however that didn’t stop the enthusiasm of the hundreds of school children who poored off their school buses to spend a morning enjoying themselves and getting up close and personal with local police cars, fire engines, police boats, three wheelers and of couse having their face painted and picnicing under the trees. Rotaractors Renee, Michelle, Kylie & Kate were only too happy to add to the day’s excitment by transforming hundred of lovely faces into dalmations, lions, butterfly’s princesses, and various super hero’s. Face painting these kid, their helpers, and the odd Rotararian was so much fun! Can’t wait until next year!
